And all manner of things shall be well?

LIBRARY LECTURE 3: Perhaps the best known words from Dame Julian are those spoken to her by the Lord in one of her visions: “All will be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” But for years Dame Julian pondered how all things could be well given the great harm in the world caused by sin. It was not until years later that, in the longer account of her visions, she addressed this perplexing question in much more detail, focussing on a vision about a lord and his servant. Her remarkable insights will be the focus of our lecture this evening.

Emeritus Professor Anne Hunt is a laywoman and a theologian. She has a particular interest in the mystics and has written on their insights specifically into the mystery of the Trinity, an area of Anne’s great interest.
