Our Season of Advent Begins

Hugh Brown OCarm writes: This weekend we begin our Season of Advent in preparation for Christmas. This Season also marks the beginning of a new Liturgical Year and we begin reading the Gospel of Luke on many Sundays for the next twelve months (particularly when we reach the Sundays in Ordinary Time). Luke wrote his story in two volumes, the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. The Gospel of Luke appears to be addressed to people of Greek background both Gentiles and Jews and is structured around the journey of Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem.
